Brown leather “sporran” (a pouch traditionally worn at the front of a kilt), 8” x 9 ¼", fitted with the metal badge of the Black Watch, 3rd Battalion, Royal Regiment of Scotland at front. Within, the sporran is stamped with a British War Department “broad arrow” between the initials “W D”, and over the numeral “254”. It is further maker-marked “B.H.&G.” with the date “1949” and a second “broad arrow”, over “CAT. No. C.T. 0290”. A sporran strap of brown leather and bright metal links is attached to eyelets on the reverse. The strap is further marked “D.P.E.C. Ltd. 1949” with a “broad arrow” and an additional catalog number. Shows slight wear, else very good to fine.
