JAPANESE SURRENDER LEAFLET

$210.00
61316-3

Scarce printed flyer dropped from planes over Japanese troops by Allied Troops upon War's end, measures 9" x 6" and printed in red, yellow and black inks. The flyer extols, in English and Japanese, the recipient to surrender to the Allies without fear of capture. At top it reads: "ALLIED TROOPS The bearer of this pass is surrendering. He probably does not understand English but has been instructed to follow your signs. Treat him courteously and conduct him to headquarters". On verso is a lengthy text in Japanese, not translated. A bit worn as expected, otherwise very good. Affixed in two small areas to a sheet of glass, possibly removable.
