(1904 - 1971) American criminal who, with Richard Loeb, was convicted in the thrill-killing of a 14 year old. Saved from the chair by Clarence Darrow's brilliant defense.Scarce good content T.L.S. "Nate", 1p. 4to., Santurce, Puerto Rico, Apr. 9, 1967 to celebrated New York Post writer Leonard Lyons who penned the widely-read column "The Lyons Den". Leopold mentions that he will be attending a fund-luncheon in New York supporting his pet project, the Castaner Hospital, which is being organized by notorious McCarthy hearings lawyer Roy Cohn! He adds: "Could you run something in your column?...Roy Cohn has sent me over $3,000 for the Fund, some of which he donated personally and some of which he solicited from some of his friends. He's really a great guy!..." Toned a bit at right, else very good.
