Q: How does the bidding work?
A: All bids placed on this site are considered 'ceiling' bids or 'secret maximum' bids and maximum amounts are hidden until surpassed or tied. Current bids shown and final hammer prices reflect one increment over the next highest bid. For example, a lot with bids of $100 and $50 will be sold at $60.
Q: What do I do when the auction is over?
A: Invoices will be mailed to winning bidders within a few business days with instructions, totals and payment options. DO NOT send payment for your items before you receive an invoice - YOU WILL DELAY THE DELIVERY OF YOUR ITEM(S)!
Q: How soon are auction results available?
A: Results are available online as soon as the lot closes and can be viewed on item pages, in catagory view, search view or Bid/Watch pages. Results are posted in list format here approximately one week after the close of the sale.
Q: How are lots shipped?
A: Items are shipped via UPS unless otherwise stated. Shipping, insurance and handling charges are applied upon invoicing. Charges for most items range from $8-25; items of greater size and value are additional.
Q: Are all items shipped insured?
A: Yes, all items are covered under our insurance policy when shipped from us to buyers. Please note that multiple items worth $50,000 or more will be sent in separate packages.
Q: Do you guarantee the authenticity of items in the sale?
A: All material in this sale is guaranteed genuine (unless otherwise stated) to the original buyer. Any item sold which is determined to be not authentic by two independent authenticators acceptable to both parties to the sale may be returned by the original buyer at any time for an immediate refund of the purchase price (only).
Q: Can I have item(s) I own authenticated or appraised?
A: Yes, we charge $200 per hour and will provide authentication/appraisal services in writing. Items consigned in our auctions are authenticated at no cost to the consignor.
