(1729 - 1795) Signer of the Declaration of Independence, physician and Revolutionary War officer. Bartlett was also the first "President" and Governor of New Hampshire. Partly-printed A.D.S. boldly signed twice, once as Justice of the Peace and again within the text, 1p. 8vo., Kingstown, N.H., Apr. 9, 1773, an order to the sheriff of Rockingham County, New Hampshire to seize assets belonging to one Samuel March against a claim made against him for his failure to pay for "five Hundred of good Red Oak Hogshead Staves" due to a man from Massachusetts. Expertly inlaid, very fine.
